In the past 2 years and now the Russia Consumer Sentiment Index remains in the negative phase. But the results of a study have shown that there are some improvements in five of the seven Federal districts of Russia. Consumer sentiment has a direct impact on the people’s willingness to spend money on goods and services. Russians are not likely to consider the current situation as a positive one.
Among Russia’s regions, the most pessimistic are North-West and Siberia, although until 2014, the residents there were optimistic.
Inhabitants of the Central region of Russia, the Northern Caucasus and the Far East are far more optimistic than others.
We can say that consumers from the Far east have literally perked up, there we have registered the most significant recovery in consumer sentiment.
The moods of the inhabitants of Moscow can be considered as volatile.From time to time, ups and downs of consumer sentiments are registered. It is caused both by unstable estimates of the current situation in the country, and constantly changing self-expectations about the future.In November of 2016, the mood of the residents have got worse.
